Translucent honeycomb panels - light diffusion and transmission

Bonded Series panels can be specified to achieve lighting goals. Satin-faced panels are perfect for diffuse backlighting, while transparent-faced panels transmit daylight – the larger the cell, the higher the Visible Light Transmission.

Just as it directs sight lines, honeycomb directs light rays. In fact, honeycomb amplifies diffuse light because light bounces within the honeycomb cells. Some daylight is transmitted directly, and most is diffused, to reduce the energy required for artificial lighting, reduce glare, and increase user comfort. The degree to which daylight is transmitted directly or diffused depends on the panel type chosen. Satin facings ensure total diffusion when desired – the perfect choice for backlit walls – while transparent facings allow views and some direct light, and both factors. can be increased by increasing the honeycomb cell diameter.
